A true story of an author’s life as an orphan
Even while her parents were still living, L.A. (Lynnann) Muse was an orphan. In the tormented days of her broken childhood, she could never have imagined that her past would become a testimony of hope to others; but in searching for God’s plan for her life, she was led to share her story. In her new release, A Forest of Doors: An Orphan’s Quest (Innovo Publishing, LLC, August 2013), Muse explores her discovery of God’s gifts of healing and forgiveness.
Familiar only with the shame and loss of a damaged childhood, Muse learned early to mistrust the idea that she deserved better. Her history of abuse and abandonment could have robbed her of a joyful, shining future; but through it all, God was faithful.
Inspired by constantly recurring images of doors, Muse realized that they served as the perfect metaphor for her own life, a reflection of obstacles and opportunities that remain closed and locked or open to reveal great treasures. In retrospect, Muse could clearly see God at work. Through the process of writing her story, she learned that the many difficulties of her past were still shaping her and keeping her wounded and broken.
“I learned that I still had healing to experience,” Muse says. Writing the book proved to be cathartic for her. “I became able to forgive and move on with life.” For her readers, Muse hopes that her words are an inspiring source of strength: “There is a plan for each of our lives. Even the most painful events work together to give us a story that will help us heal, grow, learn, and encourage others.”
Called intense and inspirational by readers, A Forest of Doors is being celebrated as small but mighty in message. “Don’t be confused that a small book cannot deeply move you,” says A. Flynn, one of Amazon’s top memoir reviewers. “This book will. It shot straight into my heart and left me feeling quite deeply. I still think about this story and have to say that I won’t be the same after having read it.”
Through A Forest of Doors, Muse takes readers on her journey to self-revelation, bearing testimony to the healing, hope, and freedom that can be found through forgiveness. The book is a transcendent, poignant tale of the strength God provides even in the darkest times, showing that even in the pain of a broken earthly childhood, we are His deeply-loved children. It is a message that will lift the reader above the shame and struggles of the past and lead them to a future filled with promise.
